The key here is that you very carefully apply 1-2 drops in the center of the speed cube, then play with the cube for a moment so that it is well distributed everywhere and then leave it for a while. After a while, see if the speedcube is already moving smoothly. Should it still be a bit stiff, you can repeat this process.
