Ugears Archballistators

Ugears gets romantic-medieval and invites you to become an expert besieger with the latest ospanning model: battering ram and Tower. This model is clearly based on examples of age-old artillery and legendary battles of the distant past that inspire contemporary movies, books and games, but it also offers a new twist on the classic war machine to test your skill as a grand conqueror.

The Ballista has two modules: the shooting unit and the base. The base has adjustable legs that stabilize the machine during baking. The bake unit – or the actual ballista – shoots wooden bolts. The shooting mechanism can shoot up to three bolts in a round. The traversing and elevation mechanism allow the in horizontal and vertical direction to be set at the desired angle to precisely hit the target. The retractor lever is located on the right side of the model’s fuselage. The same lever acts as a switch that shoots the bolt toward the target after the aiming mechanism is set.

This majesque weapon was made to take down defensive strongholds and has been in use since ancient times. However, UGears’ two-part model refers to the medieval period. This is evident in the design, especially the details of the tower. Decorated with delicate ornaments hides a classic castle tower with ivy and a heraldic griffin or dragon on a coat of arms. Some interesting structural features: it is a , which means it cannot possibly be a static piece of wood. The gear on the side of the tower sets in motion a mechanism that lifts the second level, revealing the spiral staircase and interior structure. The tower is fully extended when you can see the entire shield with a dragon parallel to the wall of the tower. Aim your ballista at the shield and the second level collapses, dropped by the mighty weapon.
